You might be busy implementing your New Years resolutions but even this intensive effort is unlikely to get you in shape to participate in this years London Olympics.
So, you may ask why on earth should I even consider this when planning my wedding and stag or hen party? Well the answer is simple and can be summed up in one word, Hotels.
Well maybe not quite so simple so read on, there is going to do a huge demand on hotels in and around London and in fact in many of the other areas that are hosting Olympic events.
This leads to 3 major problems;
Firstly, a lack of hotel room availability.
Secondly, demand a supply has a strong effect on hotel prices. you guessed it, rooms are going to cost an arm and a leg.
Thirdly, as athletes and officials fly into London from far and wide the sight of 25 smelly blokes at 4 in the morning kebab in hand is not all that appealing to hoteliers. So, again they are going to be less keen to take your booking.
All of this doesn't mean you need to descend into panic and cancel the whole thing. Just follow a few simple bits of advice.
Plan early, get your booking made and then you can sleep easy.
Think about location. As great a party city as London is, it may be worth giving a miss in August 2012.
Think about your timing, if London really is what you want. Hold your party early if nothing else you will have longer to recover before the wedding.
