Leeds
Leedshas developed into one of the party capitals of the north over the years. You would be forgiven for questioning whether there are more locals or stag/hen parties out on the town come Saturday night.
There are loads of good quality hotels in the city centre so should you book your weekend early enough there are some fantastic places to stay.
Stag parties often worry about being able to get into venues as a large group. This is rarely an issue for sensibly (ish) behaved parties in Leeds.
As well a buzzing nightlife there are many great activities on offer too. There is a great indoor ski centre where you ski or toboggan on the slopes, life drawing classes or even fire engine tours to get the hen party started.
For the stag do’s the most popular activity being Go-Karting as the track is very central and makes for a quick transition from track to pub. Which, for some reason is pretty popular!
Much of the city that was once taken up by industry is now used for leisure and tourism with area such as Brewery Wharfand the Corn Exchange rivalling the Millennium Square areas of the city for Bars and restaurants.
This transition began in the 1970’s. When the pressure of foreign imports led to Leeds City Council to move away from traditional industries such as textiles and agricultural trading. The vision was a 24 hour European culture and visitors to the city today will surely agree they have been very successful in creating what could be argued as the ‘Capital of the North’.
As well as fantastic new developments such as the Light on the Headrow. All leading to a great mix of nightlife that can be experienced today
