Nottingham
Nottingham is the home of Crocodile Events so we are bound to be a bit biased but Nottingham really has got the lot. A perfect central location means none of the group will have too far to travel. The city also boasts an enviable list of activity options.
Sherwood Forest is the backdrop for some fantastic outdoor activities such as Paintball, Quad Biking and High Wire Adventure. Nottingham offers all the old favourites from Karting to Clay Shooting and something different in the form of Hovercraft Flying, you can even train to fight like a knight.
For the hen parties that don’t want to get down and dirty in the forest there are some brilliant city centre activities. Including Cocktail Making, Treasure Hunts and Dance Classes (everything from Dirty Dancing to Bollywood is on offer).
Then there is the nightlife! The compact city centre is really easy to get around with a recent report listing 300+ licensed premises in 1 square mile of the city centre.
Nottingham is world famous as the home of Robin Hood and his merry men and although the Major Oak is now showing its age the 11th century castle once inhabited by the evil Sheriff of Nottingham is still going strong to this day. The bad guys are long gone though!!
Most people have heard the rumours of a women to men ratio of 7:1. This all started in the industrial revolution when Nottingham’s textile industry boomed with the star of the show being Nottingham Lace. This brought many ladies to work in the city. The Lace Market is still buzzing with life although not industry. It is now the home to many of Nottingham’s best bars, clubs and restaurants.
The 7:1 ratio rumour runs to this day fuelled by the large student nurse population training at Queens Medical Centre and Nottingham University.
One other must see part of Nottingham’s heritage is a statue of Brian Clough. Who took Nottingham Forest to European glory.
Oh and boys, if you are wondering if the rumours are true, the only way to find out is to come and see for yourselves.
